Manual Handling
We can conduct manual handling risk assessments and training for your organisation.
Manual Handling Risk Assessments
We are able to assess the postures adopted by your employees and determine the level of risk of musculoskeletal disorders your employees are exposed to. We would provide a report with the risk levels and recommended actions to reduce the risk levels. We can conduct one off assessments or regular assessments for your organisaton. Our assessment would consist of:
- Visit from one of our ergonomists
- Walkthrough of areas concerned
- Collection of video and photographic data where required
- Off site analysis of postures adopted and risk levels
- Report outlining risk levels and remedial measures
Manual Handling Training
The training provided by our ergonomists will ensure that delegates understand the risks of poor manual handling and how to assess and reduce the risks they are exposed to. The one day course is a mixture of theory and practical sessions to allow delegates to put into practice what they learn. The training can be tailored to include your organisations tasks to make the training more relevant. Certification is provided once the training is successfully completed. The training will help reduce manual handling inujuries and increase your employees' awareness. The course includes:
- Anatomy and physiology of the human body
- The structure of the spine and discs
- Definitions of manual handling
- Physics of lifting and handling
- Overview of tasks conducted by delegates
- Risk assessment of Posture, Environment, Load and Task
- Group work looking at different tasks with presentation
A shorter course can be delivered to your requirements if simple postural awareness is required.
